Why everyone knows Whistler

The most famous mountain on the continent

It hosted the Olympics

Whistler ran the alpine events of the 2010 Winter Games, and it has been on every skier’s list since. It is still consistently ranked the top ski resort in North America.

Three million people a year

It is the busiest ski resort on the continent, drawing about three million visitors a year from all over the world. You are going somewhere that people fly across oceans for.

A gondola that set three world records

The Peak 2 Peak opened in 2008 with the longest unsupported span at 3.024 km, the greatest height above the ground at 436 m, and the longest continuous lift system of its kind. The crossing takes 11 minutes.

A village you never have to drive in

The base village is pedestrian only and packed with bars and restaurants well beyond what a town this size should have. You walk from your condo to the lifts, and from the lifts to the night out.

Why Whistler, why MLK

The biggest weekend of the season, on the best snow of the year

8,171Acres of terrain, the largest in North America
422″Average snowfall a year, about 35 feet
200+Marked runs, 16 alpine bowls, 3 glaciers
5,280′Vertical drop across two mountains

January is the snowiest month

Whistler sits in the Coast Mountains and catches storm after storm off the Pacific. January is its deepest month of the season, which is why mid-January is when people who chase snow book their trip.

It is the biggest weekend of the year

MLK weekend is the busiest weekend Whistler sees. The whole village is full and the après scene is at its absolute peak, which is exactly why it is worth being there and exactly why space goes fast.

The weekend

On the mountain and after

Where you stay

Base village condos within walking distance of the lifts, with a full kitchen, queen beds and a fireplace in the unit. Outdoor pool, hot tubs and a sauna at the property. Four of you to a unit, and you choose who.

Getting there

Fly into Seattle. An optional group charter bus runs from there straight to Whistler Village, added on at booking.

Bring a valid passport. The bus crosses into Canada.

Winter weather moves flights, so build in a buffer day if you can.

Add on at booking

  • Discounted multi-day lift tickets
  • Discounted ski and board rentals
  • Charter bus seat from Seattle, optional
  • Single-day and multi-day lessons
  • Room buyout upon request
  • Trip insurance, recommended
  • Buy now, pay later payment plan

Where the Weekend Après Pass gets you in

MLK weekend is the biggest party of the year. Your pass gets you into all of it.

The whole village goes off this weekend, and the wristband is your way past the line at every stop: Longhorn Saloon, Buffalo Bills, Garfinkel’s, Black’s Pub, Moe Joe’s, Après Après and Tapley’s Pub, with more still being added. Whistler has more than 30 bars and restaurants across the village and on mountain, and you will not be picking just one.

Questions

Before you book

When does booking open, and how do I hold a spot?

Booking opens Thursday, September 17 at 7 PM PT. The deposit is $100 per person, and it is what actually holds your spot — nothing is reserved until it is paid.

What exactly does the $629 include?

Three nights in a Whistler village condo at four people per unit, the Weekend Après Pass wristband, and the free village shuttle. Lift tickets, the charter bus seat and everything else are added on at booking.

Are lift tickets included?

No. Lift tickets are discounted and released for you to book, but they are not part of the trip price. If you already have an Epic Pass, Whistler Blackcomb is on it — unlimited and unrestricted.

How do I get to Whistler?

The bus seat is an add-on at booking rather than part of the base price. You are welcome to make your own way to Whistler instead, but the charter keeps the group together and takes the border crossing off your hands.

Do I need a passport?

Yes. The bus crosses the border into Canada, so bring a valid passport. Make sure it is not expiring soon.

What if I am traveling alone or with one friend?

The starting price assumes four travelers sharing a condo, and we will place you with other travelers to fill the unit. If you would rather have the condo to yourself or your group, a room buyout is available upon request.

Can I choose my roommates?

Yes. After you register for the trip, go back to your profile overview page and select the “Rooming” tab. From there you can pick your roommates, once they have each registered individually.

What is the Weekend Après Pass?

A wristband that gets you into the participating village bars for the weekend: Longhorn Saloon, Buffalo Bills, Garfinkel’s, Black’s Pub, Moe Joe’s, Après Après and Tapley’s Pub, with more being added. It is included in your trip price, and it comes with the trip — everyone on the pass is staying with the group.

I have never skied. Is this trip for me?

Yes. Single-day and multi-day lessons are available as an add-on, and discounted rentals mean you do not need to own anything. Plenty of people come for the village, the hot tubs and the après as much as the mountain.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. A buy now, pay later payment plan is available at booking, so you can spread the balance rather than paying it all at once.

Can I bring kids? Is there childcare?

We do not offer childcare, and kids’ lessons are not bookable through our portal. If you want the Whistler Blackcomb Kids Zone, you can book it directly: whistlerblackcomb.com kids pass programs.

What are the rooms like? Beds, kitchen, fridge?

Every room has queen beds. All units come with a full kitchen stocked with the basic cooking equipment, so you can cook and keep food and drinks in the condo rather than eating out every meal.

Is there a bathroom on the bus?

Yes, there is a bathroom on board. The bus will also stop for bathroom breaks as needed, so nobody is stuck waiting.

Is the bus cheaper if I only ride one way?

No. The bus is priced for round-trip travel, so it costs the same whether you ride both ways or just one.

Can I bring alcohol or weed?

Weed is not permitted on the bus.

Alcohol is permitted on site. The one rule to remember: no glass around the hot tub.

Can I smoke in the room?

No. Every room is non-smoking, and that includes the deck. This applies to cigarettes as well as anything else.

Is there parking at the property?

Yes, there is on-site parking. That said, we recommend the charter bus — it is far easier than driving yourself, and the entire village is walkable once you are there.

What if I need to cancel?

You can cancel any time up to 60 days before the trip start date and get back everything you have paid, less a $25 processing fee. For this trip that cutoff is November 16, 2026. That applies whether you paid in full, paid a deposit only, or are paying through Uplift.

Add-ons work differently. An add-on is refundable on the same 60-day terms only if you bought it in the same transaction as a trip you paid for in full. If you buy an add-on separately, or alongside a trip you reserved with a deposit rather than paying in full, that add-on is non-refundable.

These are the headline terms. The full terms and conditions you agree to at booking are what govern.

Should I buy trip insurance?

We recommend it. The refund window closes 60 days out, so anything that comes up after mid-November — illness, a work conflict, a family emergency — is not covered by the cancellation policy. Insurance is what covers you past that point.

It is also worth it for the travel itself, since this trip crosses an international border in the middle of January.
